We have been very busy learning in second grade. In Science we learned about spinners, tops, and roller coasters. It was lots of fun!

The roller coaster looks like great fun! How did you get the marble to go all the way around the room and out the other end? Would you be able to get a square object to go all the way through the chute? Hmmm....

ReplyDeleteThe square wouldn't go through the roller coaster because it has straight sides, and the straight sides wouldn't let it roll. The marble rolled because is a sphere.
To get the marble to go all the way around the room we used momentum and gravity. Momentum gives it speed and makes it go faster to go up the hill. Gravity pulled it back down.
